What the website collects

If you join the newsletter, we collect your email address and optional first name. If you share a story or submit a club or event, we collect the details you enter and the email address needed to follow up. We also record when you gave consent.

Submissions are stored securely for review. They are not sold, and personal stories are not published without an additional confirmation from the person who submitted them.

Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for removal. Story, club, and event submissions are kept while they are being reviewed, published, or maintained, unless you ask us to remove them and we have no legal reason to retain them.

Newsletter, analytics, and spam protection

When newsletter delivery is connected, Buttondown will process subscriptions and send a confirmation email before activating a new subscriber. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter.

Privacy-respecting Cloudflare Web Analytics may be enabled to understand page visits, referrals, and site performance without creating advertising profiles. Cloudflare Turnstile may process limited technical information to protect forms from automated spam.

The website also keeps daily aggregate counts for a small set of actions, such as opening the App Store, starting support, downloading a guide, or completing a form. These counts may include the selected site language, but do not store names, email addresses, IP addresses, device identifiers, or individual browsing histories.

The app and your choices

Core app play does not require an account. Apple may process App Store purchases, Game Center, iCloud, and related platform services under Apple’s own policies.

You may ask us to remove a website submission or newsletter subscription by emailing us from the address used to submit it.
